Privacy policy

Last updated 2026-09-06

The short version: we do not ask for an account, we do not store your IP address, and we do not sell data. The longer version is below.

What we collect

We do not operate a user database. The site is static, so there is no application server keeping a record of your visit. Standard hosting access logs may retain a truncated IP and user agent briefly for security and abuse prevention.

Third-party requests

To detect and analyse an address, your browser sends requests directly to ipify, ipwho.is and ipquery.io. Those providers necessarily receive your IP address and process it under their own privacy policies. We receive no copy of that data.

Local storage

One key is stored in your browser: your light or dark theme preference. It never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies, runs no advertising network and embeds no social widgets or session-recording scripts.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal records, there is nothing for us to export or erase. Requests relating to data held by the third-party APIs should be directed to those providers.

Changes

Any material change to this policy will be reflected in the "last updated" date above. Questions: privacy@publicipchecker.com.
